KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. To develop and manage a caseload of grants, including institutional and internal grants. This includes assessing competencies of organisations and developing organisational plans with grantees
2. To support the ongoing development of grantees through capacity building, and providing networking opportunities
3. To support the Sport for Good Development Team in their applications to institutional funders, trusts and foundations, providing input and advice as requested
4. To ensure grant-management requirements for Sport for Good and external funding are met successfully
5. To work closely with grantees to source narratives of individual and community transformation to support development of donor relationships and communication about the power of sport to change the world
6. To provide good customer care to grantees, maintaining regular but appropriate contact and safeguarding their interests
7. To undertake monitoring trips, conducting site assessments to international and UK based projects
8. To source new, innovative projects in line with Sport for Good’s funding criteria
9. To assist in raising the standards of child protection within Sport for Good’s portfolio
10. To update the database and to analyse data from reports and write up recommendations for senior management and/or board consideration
11. To line-manage junior staff, interns, and consultants as requested
12. Assist on project visits, PR activities and other events as required
13. Represent Laureus in the sector in relevant forums and to keep up to date with developments in the fields of sport for development.

HOW WILL YOU SUCCEED WITH US?

14. Experience of working in international development, preferably in a developing country or community-based organisation
15. Solid experience from working in a charity or foundation with focus on international development
16. Experience of submitting successful funding proposals to institutional donors and trusts and foundations
17. Strong track record of successful management of all reporting requirements associated with grants received from third parties
18. Good project management skills, with experience delivering or grant-managing projects internationally
19. Experience of working across a number of continents
20. Sound knowledge of the sport for development sector
21. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work on own initiative and at a fast pace
22. Basic budgeting and financial management experience, able to understand the link between finance and operations
23. Experience in conducting due diligence into potential new grantees
24. Ability to work cross-organisationally with multiple stakeholders in the realisation of shared goals
25. Confident communicator and convenor, particularly in written reports, external communications, presentations and with people whose first language is not English
26. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships to achieve objectives with international partners
27. Written and oral fluency in English is required and additionally in French is preferred.
