Security Officer

Hours of work: 12 Hour Shifts (42 hrs avg per week)

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days & Nights including weekends and bank holidays)

Pay Rate: £14.36 per hour


Job Overview

Park House is an eight-storey, mixed‑use building located in one of the most iconic locations in London. We are looking for someone to join our team.


Responsibilities

* Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AIs).
* Proactively review the published AIs, familiarize yourself with any changes and suggest amendments that improve service.
* Report directly to the Duty Supervisor and follow instructions and procedures appropriately without unnecessarily challenging authority.
* Be cross‑trained and may be required to cover Pall Mall and Park House Apartments if instructed by management or supervisor.
* Ensure the security, safety and welfare of Park House and visitors.
* Protect building assets by maintaining a vigilant, proactive security presence to minimise risks to people and property.
* Provide exceptional customer service and proactively look for opportunities to assist residents, visitors and colleagues.
* Provide clear and timely communication to colleagues and concierge team within Park House on key issues affecting business operation and customer service delivery.
* Ensure the interests of REM, residents and their guests are fully protected at all times and conduct yourself accordingly as their representative.
* Liaise with enforcement and regulatory bodies.
* Ensure fully understanding of emergency procedures for the building.
* Ensure fully understanding of AIs, SOPs and risk assessments.
* Ensure all posts are correctly manned at the correct times.
* Ensure all equipment is serviceable and in good working order.
* Ensure all Security Officers are correctly dressed and briefed for their particular duty.
* Provide security escort to all areas of the building as and when required.
* Carry a radio at all times whilst on duty.
* Report any issues to the Duty Supervisor or CRS.
* Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
* Have your SIA and CCTV licences with you and displayed at all times.
* Control all aspects of access and egress to the building.
* Manage the Visitor Management system effectively and ensure all visitors and contractors follow the correct sign‑in procedures.
* Complete internal and external patrols and be confident in using the Partner Patrol device and reporting faults on the Helpdesk system.
* Attend deliveries (receipt and dispatch).
* Complete DOB books, maintenance and accident books.
* Monitor CCTV regularly and report any faults to the Shift Security Supervisor.
* Respond to emergencies and assist in all types of evacuations and events that may occur at Park House.
* Deal with conflict in an appropriate manner if required.
* Be vigilant to the Health and Safety risks at Park House, carrying out regular checks.
* Be on post, on time as dictated by the duty rota or as instructed by the Supervisor or above.
* Be trained on the Fire Panel and follow the correct escalation procedure during any emergency.
* Be aware and confident in the key‑issuing procedure.


Health & Safety

Look out for, and immediately report, any health and safety hazards or potential hazards on site. Stay alert to threats or changes in the work environment to take appropriate action to reduce disruption, loss or damage. Use common sense and initiative by immediately involving others if a situation appears threatening. Maintain professional conduct in difficult situations and challenging customers. Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident, which can then be used as part of the Incident Report process. Keep to schedules and demonstrate commitment to the client.

A valid SIA Licence and previous front‑of‑house security experience.

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to engage with colleagues, clients and visitors at all levels.
* Excellent presence and impact with the ability to command a respectful presence owning the ‘front of house’.
* Proactive attitude and awareness of personal health and safety.
* Understanding and setting the corporate grooming standards required for the role.
* Attention to detail.
* Well organised, with a high level of concern for quality and the delivery of excellent customer service.
* Committed to following procedures and ensuring tasks are fully completed.
* Team player able to take personal responsibility for their actions.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
