SEN Teaching Assistant (Primary – KS1/KS2)

Are you a supportive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a passion for making a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We are currently seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming primary schools in South London from September 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential in both KS1 and KS2 settings. You will be working closely with class teachers and the wider support team to provide tailored in-class and small group support.
Schools are looking for individuals who are patient, resilient, and committed to creating a positive impact on children’s learning and emotional development. You will be joining inclusive environments where every child is valued and supported to succeed.
These roles are full-time, long-term positions, with opportunities to progress within supportive school settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN needs
Assist the class teacher in delivering adapted and accessible learning activities
Support pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour, and social development
Implement individual support strategies and behaviour plans
Help create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence in learning
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
Candidate Requirements:
Experience working with children (school-based or transferable experience)
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils
Safeguarding & Compliance Requirements:
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
