The Transport Services team are responsible for all aspects of road transport for the Council, from vehicle procurement, maintenance, and disposal of Kirklees Transport assets. You will work within the Fleet Support Team, a close-knit and supportive team that work flexibly to provide excellent customer experience for all our service users.
You will be the first point of contact for customers and clients in connection with vehicle servicing, and hires, including complaints/compliments about the service provision we provide. You will complete all associated aspects of administration to the Fleet Support function, a very varied role. You will have a regular interaction with other departments across the Council, suppliers and service providers to support the work of the Transport Services teams.
As this is a customer focused role you will need to have great communication skills, both written and verbal. Good IT skills (Excel) are also required.
Responsibilities
* Needing a basic awareness of transport terminology and legislation.
* Providing customers with an estimate of work requirements with realistic completion timescales.
* Process monthly financial recharges
* Complete Notice of Intended Prosecutions
* Process vehicle accident paperwork, including using the Council insurance database to keep records up to date.
* Complete vehicle hire processes and inspect hire and accident damaged vehicles
* Track Workshops ‘Vehicle of-road’ KPI’s and keep services up-to-date on serviceability levels
* Undertake reception duties at George St. Workshops, including initial administration process of driver vehicle defect reports
