About the Role: Providing strategic leadership and direction for the Geography department, ensuring its curriculum aligns with the school's vision and the National Curriculum. Leading the development and implementation of a stimulating and engaging Geography curriculum across Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11). Inspiring and motivating a team of Geography teachers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the Geography curriculum and student progress, making data-driven decisions to ensure high standards. Contributing to the wider school curriculum, fostering collaboration with other departments where relevant. Building strong relationships with students, parents/carers, and the wider school community. Representing the Geography department in school leadership meetings and committees. The Ideal Candidate: A qualified Geography teacher with a proven track record of success in leadership and departmental management. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Geography, with a strong understanding of current curriculum trends and developments. Outstanding leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and empower a team of teachers. Proven experience in curriculum development and assessment strategies for Geography. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive and dynamic learning environment. A willingness to embrace new ideas and contribute to a continuously evolving school environment.
