As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will play a vital role in electrical engineering on Transformational Programmes for critical UK infrastructure, with opportunities to work on iconic engineering projects both at home and abroad.
We specialise in all aspects of electrical engineering across sectors such as Water, Aviation, Defence, Energy, Cities & Development, and Education. We provide industry-leading engineering solutions throughout the project lifecycle, including client-side support and construction phases. Opportunities are available in our Bristol, Surrey, and Derby offices, with consideration for other locations.
Your Responsibilities
1. Lead a team to undertake technical design work following relevant standards and codes, ensuring high-quality outputs.
2. Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and contribute to bid proposals.
3. Manage time and budgets effectively to meet project milestones and deadlines.
4. Collaborate with UK and overseas teams to deliver integrated design solutions.
5. Adhere to quality assurance standards in design processes.
What You Bring
1. Chartered Electrical Engineer.
2. Extensive experience in the Water Industry.
3. Proven leadership in design delivery, including multidisciplinary projects.
4. Strong knowledge of electrical design (LV and HV systems), motor control centres, switchgear, electrical installations in industrial/process environments, HAZOP, DSEAR/ATEX practices, SLD/BCD creation, earthing and bonding, and familiarity with UK standards.
5. Proficiency in digital analysis software such as Trimble/Amtech, following relevant guidance and standards.
