Clinical Support Worker

We are looking to recruit Clinical Support Workers to join our established Nursing Team. We are looking for Clinical Support Workers who are motivated and want to make a difference to patient outcomes and wish to join our welcoming team.
Successful applicants will have the opportunity of work in an acute environment allowing them to develop their skills in trauma orthopaedics.
Ward 10 is a 22 bedded orthopaedic unit which specialises in providing care for trauma patients undergoing complex total hip and total knee replacements, along with other upper and lower limb surgery.
Main duties of the job
* Provide and support patients as necessary with both personal and clinical care activities.
* Maintain accurate records of the patient's care, documenting as appropriate on the Electronic Patient Record (Cerner) in line with Trust, professional and departmental guidelines.
* Observe patients and report any changes to a Registered professional for review.
* Report any abnormal findings directly to the registered professional in charge or doctor.
* Undertake a range of basic housekeeping, stock control and administrative duties within the clinical environment.

Person Specification
Knowledge and skills
* Knowledge and understanding of the responsibilities of a Clinical Support Worker
* Previous experience and training of manual handling patients using appropriate equipment
* Can demonstrate an understanding of the importance of promoting patient independence
Personal Attributes
* Ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team
* A positive attitude and ability to act on feedback
* Polite, friendly, approachable and self-motivated
Qualifications
* Level 3 qualification (e.g. A levels or NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or a good standard of education to A Level standard and the agreement to undertake Level 3 Qualification upon appointment
* Experience working in a clinical environment and undertaking a range of relevant clinical skills with proven competencies
* Experience working in the NHS
