The Role:
1. Work with a team of subcontract and material buyers
2. Develop and implement purchasing procedures
3. Maintain and develop successful supplier relationships
4. Negotiate effectively with supply chain to ensure best value is obtained.
5. Manage and report on budgets and costs to ensure timely decision making
6. Maintain appropriate and accurate communication with senior management, Finance team, QS team and site management team.
7. Ensure that terms and conditions of appointments align project requirements regarding specifications, guarantees, collateral warranties and insurances.
Qualifications:
8. Previous experience in a purchasing or procurement function in a Main Contractor organisation
9. Responsible for driving strategy and working to deadlines
10. Strong negotiation skills
11. Results focused and well organised
12. Proficient IT skills
13. Knowledge of Construction processes
14. Knowledge Forms of Contract, Collateral Warranties would be advantageous
Hours of work: Mon to Thurs - 5pm, Friday - 4pm
Salary: £29K - £30K per annum (based on experience)
