Job Advert – Project Manager (Mechanical & Electrical) – Central London Council\n\n Client: Central London Council\n Job Title: Project Manager – Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)\n Location: Hybrid – Central London (Regular Site Attendance Required)\n Contract: Ongoing Temporary Contract\n Pay Rate: Up to £450 per day Umbrella LTD (£327 PAYE) \n Start Date: ASAP\n\n About the Role: We’re recruiting for an experienced M&E Project Manager to join a Council in London and lead on the delivery of complex mechanical and electrical capital projects. This hybrid role involves working both remotely and on-site, managing the full lifecycle of projects from planning through to handover.\n You will act as the key link between internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and in full compliance with technical and regulatory standards.\n\n Key Responsibilities:\nLead delivery of capital projects with an M&E focus from conception to completion\nManage financial aspects of each project including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting\nSupervise contractors, engineers, and on-site teams to ensure high-quality execution\nMonitor and mitigate risks while keeping projects aligned to time and cost targets\nImplement quality assurance protocols and regulatory compliance checks\nInterpret technical drawings and specifications, resolving issues as they arise\nAct as the principal liaison between Westminster City Council and all external/internal stakeholders\nMaintain accurate project documentation and ensure best-practice project governanceSkills & Experience Required:\nProven background managing Mechanical & Electrical engineering projects\nExceptional knowledge of compliance, legislation, and quality control within construction\nExperience managing multidisciplinary teams on complex capital delivery programmes\nConfident in financial management, procurement, and project controls\nExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills\nStrong decision-making and problem-solving ability\nProficient in project management software tools and reporting systemsQualifications & Professional Memberships:\nDegree or HND in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or related discipline\nMembership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IMechE, CIOB, or similar)\nEvidence of continuous professional development\nSound understanding of procurement, cost control, and construction legislationWhat We're Looking For: A results-focused, technically adept Project Manager with a track record of delivering high-value capital works within the public sector.
