Learning Support Assistant (1:1 Support) – Winchester
Are you passionate about making a genuine difference to children’s lives? We are seeking dedicated and nurturing Learning Support Assistants to join our team in Winchester, supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
We have both part-time and full-time opportunities available, offering flexibility alongside the chance to build meaningful, consistent relationships with the children you support.
The Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
* Work closely with individual pupils to support their academic, social and emotional development
* Implement tailored strategies outlined in EHCPs
* Foster independence, resilience and confidence
* Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
* Adapt learning materials to meet specific needs
* Create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment
Each day will be different. You may be supporting a child to access classroom learning, developing communication skills, encouraging positive behaviour strategies, or celebrating small but significant achievements that make a lasting impact.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants who:
* Have experience working with children or young people (in schools or similar settings)
* Demonstrate patience, empathy and strong communication skills
* Are calm, consistent and proactive in their approach
* Understand or are willing to learn about SEND and EHCP frameworks
* Are committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing
A background in education, care, psychology, youth work or support roles would be advantageous, but most important is your commitment to supporting individual needs with professionalism and warmth.
