SME | Dual Site (Reading & High Wycombe)£65,000 + BenefitsReporting to the Managing DirectorI'm supporting a growing, well-established SME that is looking to appoint a commercially minded Head of Finance to lead their finance function across two key sites: Reading and High Wycombe. This is a pivotal role within the business, working closely with the MD to drive financial performance, strengthen reporting, and support strategic decision-making during an exciting period of growth.The RoleAs the new Head of Finance, you will take full ownership of the finance function, leading a small team and ensuring the business has robust financial controls, accurate reporting, and forward-looking insight. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and being truly embedded in an SME operation.Your responsibilities will include:
* Full management of day-to-day finance operations across both sites
* Leading and developing the finance team
* Monthly management accounts, forecasting, budgeting, and KPI reporting
* Cashflow management and financial planning
* Business partnering with the MD and operational stakeholders
* Improving systems, controls, and processes
* Supporting strategic business initiatives and investment decisions
* Ensuring compliance, audit readiness, and high-quality financial governance
About YouWe're looking for someone who thrives in a hands-on, multi-site SME environment. Ideally, you'll bring:
* Experience in a standalone or No.1/No.2 finance role within an SME
* Strong management accounting and financial control experience
* The ability to work across sites and build relationships at all levels
* A commercial mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
* Qualified, part-qualified or QBE - all backgrounds considered if experience is strong
