Exciting opportunity for a nurse with chemotherapy and managerial experience to join our Oncology and Haematology Directorate. You will work closely with management, medical, and nursing colleagues to develop and drive an already excellent service, while also having the drive to continue pushing forward for our patients.
The post holder will be an experienced chemotherapy-trained nurse who is able to demonstrate advanced knowledge and skills appropriate to all elements of systemic anti-cancer therapies (SACT) in line with nationally recognised metrics. They will act as a highly specialised role model and lead for SACT delivery and haematology and oncology outpatient services throughout the organisation. Be a visible leader and role model for a number of clinical areas with the responsibility and accountability for professional standards, to include aspects of education, research and trials, and management, whilst ensuring the delivery of safe, effective services through management, education and service development.

Responsibilities
* Ensuring safe and effective clinical practice.
* Work with the Clinical Director to embed systems to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care with compassion, dignity and respect with good health outcomes.
* Monitor the Senior Sisters/Charge Nurses & Matrons delivery of on-going improvements in standards of nursing and nursing services through the development of effective systems and processes.
* Implement agreed systems across the Group/to evidence and monitor the nursing contribution to both national and local standards of care.
* Identify risks relating to nursing, develop & implement action plans to mitigate them, and ensure they are recorded on the risk register.
* Lead the development of the nursing research agenda within the Group/Directorate and implement evidence-based practice to develop skills of others.
* Monitor complaints relating to nursing and patient experience and ensure appropriate responses and actions.
* Promote learning, continuous quality improvement, and the dissemination of good practice.
* Ensure infection prevention standards are met and that root cause analyses translate into learning and improvement.
* Participate in formal management processes regarding nursing staff conduct or competency when required.
* Maintain professional standards with the Nursing & Midwifery Council and ethical practice in patient safety and care.
* Lead and develop care programs and consult on therapeutic interventions and service development.
* Coordinate continuity of patient care and discharge planning, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
* Essential: 2 years managerial experience band 7 or above
* Desirable: chemotherapy trained
