We have an exciting opportunity available for the right person to join our Early Years and Childcare Service.
About us
These are exciting times to be working at Birmingham City Council and especially in the Early Years and Childcare Service due to the recent significant increased investment from central government for Wraparound Childcare for Primary School Age children, Expanded Early Years Entitlements for eligible working parents and the ongoing Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme. Due to this significant investment, there will be more demands on the Early Years and Childcare Service which is why we are currently expanding our staffing structure to meet increased service demands.
About the Role
This is a new post created to support the take-up of Early Years Entitlements and Services by families considered hard to reach or at risk of exclusion. A key aspect will be working in partnership with all key stakeholders to improve the awareness and take-up of Early Years Entitlements and Services.
You will:
* Undertake robust research to understand the barriers to families accessing Early Years Entitlements and Services.
* Identify and support the delivery of solutions to those barriers where take-up is low.
* Develop and deliver a range of activities aimed at engaging families who may be considered hard to reach or at risk of exclusion to raise awareness and promote the benefits of accessing Early Years Entitlements and Services.
* Ensure appropriate advice and support is given to parents and carers, childcare providers, service colleagues and other partners to guarantee adequate understanding of the procedures for accessing Early Years Entitlements and Services.
* Ensure the production of regular, accurate and timely reports to contribute to performance management information requirements in respect of Early Years Entitlements and Services.
About You
You will need to hit the ground running.
You will be an experienced, driven, creative and a passionate advocate for children and young people.
You will have significant experience of building effective working relationships with stakeholders and influencing at all levels, including partners.
You will have experience of raising awareness of services or initiatives to local communities including those at risk of exclusion.
You will be an excellent planner, co-ordinator and communicator.
