Exams Office: The exams office is a crucial part of the school’s operations, ensuring that internal and external examinations are managed accurately, securely and in line with JCQ regulations. The school runs a busy exam calendar including mock examinations, GCSEs, A Levels, vocational qualifications and access arrangements assessments. The exams function is highly regarded, and the school has established systems that support high-quality delivery and compliance. The successful candidate will take full responsibility for planning, coordinating and administering all aspects of the examination process, ensuring that students are supported and that procedures are followed correctly. The role requires excellent organisation, meticulous attention to detail, and confidence working under pressure during peak periods. The exams officer will work closely with senior leaders, SEND staff, Heads of Department, invigilators and administrative colleagues to ensure that the exam process is smooth and effective. Requirements • Experience working as an Exams Officer or within school examinations (highly desirable) • Strong understanding of JCQ regulations and exam compliance procedures • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and a complex calendar • Ability to work under pressure during busy exam seasons, remaining calm and professional • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, security and confidentiality • Experience using an MIS system and exam management software (e.g. SIMS Exams, Arbor, Bromcom, ExamBoard portals) • Strong communication skills, with confidence liaising with staff, students, parents and external exam boards • Ability to lead and coordinate invigilators and support staff during examination periods • A commitment to safeguarding and ensuring students are supported appropriately during assessments Application To apply, please send your CV as soon as possible.
