The Division of Surgery is seeking to appoint a Urology TCI Clerk on a full-time basis to support elective activities for day cases and inpatient admissions.
The successful candidate will have experience using Cerner and ideally possess TCI training, although training will be provided if necessary. Good people skills and the ability to prioritize workload are essential. Experience in a clinic setting would be advantageous.
Main duties of the job
1. Create, book, admit, and discharge TCI encounters for patients.
2. Arrange bookings, reception, and follow-up outpatient appointments.
3. Complete all required documentation and computer records.
4. Locate and request case notes as needed and check for admission information.
5. Send out admission letters and handle inquiries from patients, relatives, and GPs.
6. Manage difficulties related to patient admissions, referring to higher levels if required.
7. Maintain clear communication with consultants and their secretaries.
8. Refill canceled appointments by reviewing the waiting list where possible.
9. Monitor patient waiting times to meet targets.
10. Liaise with multidisciplinary staff regarding consultants' annual leave.
Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade A-C, including Maths and English.
At least 12 months of experience working with the public.
