We are excited to announce that Esland will be opening a new SEN school in Doncaster in September 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing, specialist provision supporting vulnerable young people aged 8 to 18 years who have SEND and SEMH needs.
Role: SEMH English Specialist and Lead Teacher
Salary: up to £41,137 (depending on experience and qualifications) plus £3,000 subject lead allowance
Location: Doncaster, DN5
Contract: permanent
Hours: full time (core hours 8:30am to 4:40pm, Monday to Friday)

The role:
As a SEN Teacher and subject lead, you’ll play a key role in delivering high‑quality, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs. You will:
* Plan and deliver lessons across core subjects (with a particular emphasis on English)
* Support pupils’ academic and personal development through Individual Learning Plans (ILPs)
* Contribute to EHCP reviews and PEP meetings
* Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
* Work closely with colleagues, families, and external agencies
* Promote safeguarding and wellbeing at all times

Requirements for a SEN Teacher:
Essential:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree
* A minimum of 2 years post graduation experience
* Strong understanding of SEND and SEMH
* Knowledge of assessment frameworks and progress trackingExcellent behaviour management and inclusive teaching strategies
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
Desirable:
* Subject/Department leader experience (or acting leadership experience)
* Experience in teaching across alternative subjects (and a willingness to support other departments as the team grows)
