About the opportunity: The Sports Facility Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective daily operation of the Centre for Sport facilities. This includes overseeing Centre Assistants and supervising customer activities during assigned shifts. The role is pivotal in upholding Health & Safety standards, fostering team development, and delivering a consistently high-quality experience for all users of the facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring the smooth delivery and coordination of facility usage and scheduled activity programmes.
* Line managing Centre Assistants, providing guidance and support to maintain operational excellence.
* Acting as deputy to the Operations Manager, contributing to the management of all UWE Bristol Sport Facilities, including the Centre for Sport, Wallscourt Farm Gym, and Hillside Gardens.
* Supporting the implementation of standard operating procedures and ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations.
The successful candidate will have good organisational skills and can demonstrate broad based administrative experience in professional or specialist service in a large complex organisation. Must have experience of team supervision, motivation and coaching with the ability to communicate effectively with a range of people including University staff, students and members of the public.
The role will encompass a fixed 4 week rota pattern – 2 days of which will be as Duty Officer (18.5hrs) the remaining hours will be administrative based, distributed throughout the week.
