Quantity Surveyor required for civil engineering infrastructure projects.
Our client is a reputable civil engineering contractor delivering major highways, drainage, and infrastructure schemes across the UK. They are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, based from their office near Chorley.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on key infrastructure projects, supporting cost management and contract administration, while benefiting from a hybrid working arrangement (3 days in the office after probation, 2 days from home).
Experience Required:
1. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering (highways, drainage, utilities or infrastructure)
2. Strong working knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts
3. Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
4. Excellent cost management, forecasting and commercial reporting skills
5. Ability to manage subcontractor accounts and client relationships
6. Full UK driving licence
Duties include:
7. Monthly cost/value reconciliation (CVR process)
8. Preparation and submission of valuations, quotations and compensation events
9. Contract administration under NEC
10. Subcontractor management – issuing orders, assessing applications, handling payments
11. Preparing payment applications and final accounts
12. Identifying and managing commercial risks, claims and scope changes
13. Liaising with clients, subcontractors and operational teams
