Electrical Installation Supervisor / Senior Electrician

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Installation Supervisor to lead and deliver a wide range of electrical installation, commissioning, maintenance, and fault-finding activities within a complex industrial environment. The successful candidate will take responsibility for installation works across multiple projects, ensuring all activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with current regulations and industry standards.
This role combines hands-on electrical work with supervisory responsibilities, providing technical guidance and leadership to electricians and apprentices while supporting project delivery across a diverse operational site.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical installation activities across a variety of industrial projects, ensuring compliance with safe systems of work and project requirements.
Install, maintain, and modify indoor and outdoor electrical distribution systems and equipment.
Construct, wire, and commission electrical control panels, cubicles, and associated equipment.
Carry out testing, inspection, commissioning, fault-finding, and troubleshooting on electrical distribution and control systems.
Supervise and support electricians, apprentices, and other team members, providing technical guidance and oversight.
Allocate work, monitor progress, and ensure installation activities are delivered to agreed quality, safety, and timescale requirements.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support project delivery and operational objectives.
Interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Ensure all work complies with current electrical regulations, standards, and site procedures.
Maintain accurate records of installation, inspection, testing, and maintenance activities.
Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements at all times.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
Essential Skills and Experience
Completed a recognised Electrical Craft Apprenticeship.
City & Guilds 2357 (including AM2) or equivalent electrical qualification.
Qualified to BS 7671 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (or current equivalent).
City & Guilds 2395 Inspection and Testing qualification (or equivalent).
Proven experience working within industrial and/or commercial electrical environments.
Demonstrable experience carrying out electrical installations, testing, commissioning, and fault-finding activities.
Ability to work safely in accordance with Written Safe Systems of Work (WSSOW), permits, and risk assessments.
Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and infrastructure.
Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage priorities and deliver work to agreed timescales.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Supervisory or team leadership experience within an electrical environment.
Experience working on large-scale electrical distribution networks.
Knowledge of industrial control systems, switchgear, and power distribution equipment.
Experience coordinating installation teams across multiple concurrent projects.
Familiarity with commissioning procedures and project handover processes.
