The Medicine Division at North Bristol NHS Trust are excited to offer a 3 month opportunity to lead one of our complex care wards, Elgar Enablement Unit. We are looking for a compassionate and highly motivated Senior Sister/Charge Nurse to lead our dedicated clinical team. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, good role model and motivated individual with a keen interest in caring for the elderly care population. Applicants should display effective leadership and management skills in order to lead the team to deliver high quality patient focused care. You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team that is committed to the provision of high quality and patient-centred care, continuous service and staff development and strong collaborative working with other agencies.
You will be able to demonstrate progressive skills in leadership, advanced clinical practice and service development. The successful applicant will work with the Matron to promote a culture that fosters staff involvement and a progressive attitude to service improvement, along with taking operational and clinical day to day management responsibility at team level using performance management systems. You will also work collaboratively and co-operatively with others to meet the needs of patients and their families.
Main duties of the job
* Line manage a team of nursing staff working within the ward. Work closely with Matron to ensure the efficient and effective running of the area of responsibility.
* Have overall responsibility for ensuring their clinical area is safe.
* Deputise for the Matron and form part of the Divisional senior nursing team.
* Contribute to the development of patient-centred services.
* Be responsible for successfully attaining Trust and National quality and safety objectives within the area of responsibility.
* Provide expert clinical advice and care within the designated area of responsibility.

* Relevant Post registration qualification at level 3 / M
Work Experience
* Significant experience within specialty
* 3 years Band 6
* Evidence of participating in quality improvement within specialty
* Evidence of MDT working / community / safeguarding / dementia
