Senior Ecological Consultant — Inverness (Hybrid)

£40,000–£45,000 DOE
Join the UK’s largest ecology team to deliver impactful conservation and development projects across Scotland and the wider UK. This hybrid role blends fieldwork, technical reporting, and project management with flexible home and office working.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead ecological surveys and field programmes (including occasional out-of-hours/overnight work).
* Manage medium–large projects end-to-end: budgeting, resources, subcontractors, risk, and quality assurance.
* Produce/review technical reports, licence applications, and survey data analyses.
* Oversee site work and contribute to habitat management/creation.
* Build strong client relationships and represent the consultancy professionally.
* Mentor junior staff and support team development.
Person Specification
* Degree/vocational qualification in ecology, biology, or related discipline.
* 4+ years’ relevant ecological experience (consultancy, contracting, NGO, or public sector).
* Full UK driving licence.
* CIEEM Associate membership (or eligibility) preferred; species licences desirable.
* Strong project management, independence, and clear communication skills.
* Commitment to professional standards and CIEEM Code of Conduct.
