Do you want to be at the forefront of one of the world's most ambitious sustainability initiatives? Balfour Beatty has partnered on a first‑of‑a‑kind fully integrated gas‑fired power station with carbon capture and storage as part of its Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project. We are seeking a dynamic Insulation & Coating Lead to contribute to NZT, based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.
What you'll be doing
* Serve as the focal point for all on‑site construction matters related to the WIC Transverse Services.
* Guide and support the various construction teams by providing scope knowledge in the defined disciplines.
* Provide reach‑back support to the supply chain and act as liaison to the Construction Manager on technical matters.
* Work with Construction Directors and Leads and coordinate delivery with the Partner Delivery team.
* Provide safety advice and guidance relating to WIC Transverse services standards.
* Support the sub‑contract, procurement and QA teams with selection and appointment of suitable services contractors.
* Develop and deliver an end‑to‑end installation strategy for all WIC Transverse services aligned with the site/area delivery strategy.
* Oversee and review the preparation of specialist documentation and deliverables to support installation.
* Drive continuous compliance with delivery standards and ensure best‑for‑project interface decisions across multiple services and buildings.
* Provide accurate cost advice for all WIC Transverse services, installation activities and sub‑contractors.
* Assist the planning team to develop accurate schedule advice aligned with project schedules.
* Assist the quality team to develop inspection deliverables ensuring work adheres to approved quality standards.
* Ensure accurate performance and progress information is provided for weekly/monthly reporting of on‑site installation activities.
* Work with all stakeholders to contribute to resource forecasting and management for white‑ and blue‑collar resources.
* Account for the successful delivery of all commercial, quality and delivery aspects of the scope.
* Initiate strategies and prepare deliverables for WIC Transverse services installation activities.
* Provide cost and schedule advice for WIC Transverse services installation.
* Supply technical information supporting the wider NZT project for all WIC Transverse services activities.
* Manages risk and change mitigation strategies.
* Oversee and manage insulation & coating sub‑contractors in cooperation with project managers, commercial, QA and construction teams.
Minimum Qualifications / Experience
* Minimum 15 years of senior project‑management experience and delivery of complex major‑project installation activities.
* Minimum 15 years of demonstrable experience on WIC‑related discipline projects.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
* Up‑to‑date knowledge of current health, safety and environmental standards and requirements.
* Proficiency in IT and MS Office to an operational standard.
* Awareness of UK CDM regulations.
* High technical knowledge of safe work processes and best‑practice control systems within the four key WIC Transverse enabling services.
* Minimum 8 years of management‑level experience with insulation guidelines – CINI, BS 5970 and coatings specification codes for insulation painting and coatings.
