The role
As a Compliance and Assurance Lead, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring our Electro-Mechanical Training Contract (EMTC) meets the highest standards of governance, compliance, and assurance. This is a pivotal role where your expertise will directly support national defence training, helping shape a safer future. You’ll work closely with leadership teams and stakeholders to uphold quality, drive continuous improvement, and influence strategic decision-making.
Day-to-day you’ll be required to:
• Lead the development and delivery of quality assurance across EMTC and Babcock’s Global Business Management System.
• Manage the internal and external audit programmes and promote best practices in compliance and assurance.
• Oversee policy control documents, SOPs, and coordinate quality compliance activities.
• Drive governance processes and identify operational improvements with the Contract Performance Manager.
• Ensure contract compliance and effective management of EMTC contractual obligations.
This is a full-time role, totalling 37 hours per week, based at Lyneham. It offers hybrid working arrangements, with a mix of onsite and home working days.
Essential experience of the Compliance and Assurance Lead:
• Delivering external audits and managing audit programmes.
• Collaborating across cross-functional teams to support business and contract operations.
• Applying business management principles in a complex organisation.
• Implementing governance, assurance, and compliance frameworks.
• Managing operational risk effectively.
Qualifications for the Compliance and Assurance Lead:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
