Night Porter/ Driver

1900 - 0700, 7 nights on, 7 nights off

£13.96/hour plus night shift allowance
As the Night Porter you will provide a portering services to all patients, consultants and visitors to the hospital as required. This will include taking patients and visitors to their rooms, transferring patients between hospital departments, delivery of mail, equipment and materials and ensuring the safety and security of everyone within our hospital.

What you'll do:
1. Providing a warm and welcoming service to all patients and stakeholders
2. Operating the shuttle to transport patients and items between hospital sites
3. Transport of patients to room, between room and various hospital departments
4. Accompany patients and provide a room orientation in line with customer service standards
5. Ensure clinical and domestic waste is managed according to protocol
6. Manage the exchange and documentation of clinical waste bins with service provider
7. Monitor/Audit the medical gases storage facility and report deficiencies/fault and expired cylinders
8. Change and replace empty gas cylinders and produce reports for pharmacy to order replacement
9. Continuous monitoring of CCTV systems to ensure the safety of patients, staff and property
10. Responding and acting in emergency situations; cardiac arrest, major haemorrhage, fire, system failure or other emergencies.
11. Ensuring that security rounds are carried out and findings reported promptly and acted upon.
What you'll bring:
12. FULL CLEAN UK DRIVERS LICENCE IS ESSENTIAL
13. Physically fit, able to lift heavy items when required
14. Previous experience in a similar role is essential
15. Excellent communication and customer skills
16. Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
