System Emulation Engineer
Location: Newbury, England or Edinburgh, Scotland
Role Description:
We are supporting an innovative technology company in their search for a talented System Emulation Engineer to join their growing hardware and software division. Our client develops cutting-edge, low-power signal processing solutions used across a wide range of consumer and mobile devices.
As a System Emulation Engineer, you will be involved in evaluating mixed-signal ASICs, prototyping on FPGA, and developing Proof-of-Concept systems. The position offers the opportunity to work closely with advanced hardware platforms, porting ASIC RTL code onto FPGA for pre-silicon testing, designing test benches, and contributing to system-level architecture validation.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a System Emulation Engineer who is passionate about hands-on engineering and system development, and who is looking for an environment that rewards innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
Key Skills and Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Electronics Engineering.
* Strong experience with FPGA technologies and tool flows.
* Proven background in bench testing and debugging hardware, firmware, and software.
* Familiarity with in-circuit emulators, bus interfaces, and hardware analysers.
* Ability to interpret schematic diagrams (PCB design experience advantageous).
* Python scripting experience beneficial.
* Knowledge of DACs/ADCs/DSPs would be an advantage.
* Experience in the semiconductor sector is preferred but not essential.
* Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
The position is offered on a full-time, on-site basis, with flexibility to be based either in Newbury or Edinburgh.
