Are you an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist? Imagine making a significant impact on the lives of children and young adults with neurodiverse needs, many of whom have experienced trauma. This role offers the chance to use your skills to create meaningful change and truly make a difference.
Join us at The Grange, where your expertise will be valued! As a key member of our team, you'll have the autonomy to shape our occupational therapy services. Collaborate with our passionate integrated therapy team to deliver high-quality care and support to our pupils, making a real impact daily.
In this role, you'll identify and address your pupils' strengths and challenges, fostering their growth and independence. You'll conduct assessments, develop personalized therapy programs, and contribute to the pupils' development, empowering them to thrive and reach their full potential.
This is your opportunity to lead, inspire, and transform lives.
A day in the life of a Specialist Occupational Therapist involves:
* Adopting a neurodiverse affirming and trauma-informed approach to clinical work, managing a small caseload of pupils with neurodiverse needs.
* Assessing, developing indirect therapy programs, providing advice, consultations, and delivering direct therapy.
* Working alongside Speech and Language Therapists and Creative Art Therapists as part of the integrated therapy team.
* Designing and delivering training and mentoring for colleagues to develop the Occupational Therapy service within our college, with support from the Clinical Lead.
To be successful, you'll need:
* A recognized postgraduate qualification in Occupational Therapy, including Sensory Integration and Processing, with HCPC registration and RCOT membership.
* Extensive experience as an Occupational Therapist.
* Ability to complete or contribute to capacity assessments.
* Good IT skills—training will be provided, but familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams) is helpful.
* A full driving license, as travel to other sites and training locations, including Tiverton Hub, will be required.
In return, you will receive:
* Pension scheme: 5% employee contribution, 3% employer contribution.
* Learning & Development: Opportunities for professional growth.
* Discounts: Access through Blue Light Card and employee benefits platform.
* Wellbeing support: Mental health resources, confidential check-ins, and group sessions.
* Cycle2Work scheme: Discounted bicycles.
* DBS check: Cost covered by us.
* After 12 months: Eligibility for Medicash, life assurance at 2x salary, and high street discounts.
Please note, successful applicants will undergo pre-employment checks, including DBS, online/social media screening, and reference checks.
At Phoenix Learning and Care, we value diversity and inclusivity, encouraging all team members to bring their authentic selves to work without fear of discrimination.
