Mechanical Engineer - Water Sector
12 Month Contract | Hybrid | South East Preferred
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering professional to join a leading engineering consultancy delivering innovative infrastructure projects within the UK water sector. You will join a multi-disciplinary design team working on complex water and wastewater projects, supporting the delivery of major UK infrastructure programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead or coordinate a team of Mechanical Engineers delivering design work on complex multi-disciplinary projects
* Produce and review technical deliverables including design reports, calculations, drawings and scopes of work
* Deliver mechanical design solutions across pumping systems and water/wastewater treatment facilities
* Collaborate with project management teams to meet project milestones, budgets and programmes
* Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers
* Support bid proposals and technical submissions
* Ensure compliance with UK design standards, legislation and quality assurance processes
Requirements
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
* Chartered or Incorporated Engineer preferred
* Proven experience delivering mechanical design within the water sector
* Strong knowledge of pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing systems
* Understanding of UK design standards, CDM and DSEAR
* Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering teams
* Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
Contract Details
* Minimum 12-month contract
* Hybrid working available
