Head of Data GovernanceWest Midlands | Flexible Working HoursFull-time | PermanentSalary: Circa £70,000 per annumAre you passionate about data integrity, governance, and driving a data-first culture?We're looking for a strategic and experienced Head of Data Governance to lead the development and implementation of robust data governance capabilities across our organisation.Head of Data Governance - About the RoleAs Head of Data Governance, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the data governance strategy. You'll lead the creation of policies, frameworks, and standards that ensure data is accurate, secure, ethically managed, and aligned with our strategic goals.You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, data owners, and technical teams to embed a culture of accountability and continuous improvement in data management practices.Head of Data Governance - Key ResponsibilitiesLead the strategic direction and execution of data governance initiatives.Develop and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and data quality standards.Chair the Data Governance Forum and collaborate with business leaders, Risk, Compliance, and IT Security.Oversee the configuration and use of Data Governance applicationsMonitor and report on data quality metrics and KPIs.Drive awareness and training on data governance principles.Manage and develop a high-performing team of Data Quality professionals.Ensure timely escalation and management of data risks.Head of Data Governance - What We're Looking ForEssential Qualifications & Experience:Degree or equivalent professional qualification.At least 5 years of proven experience in a similar role.Strong understanding of Data Quality, Metadata, Master Data, and Data Lifecycle Management.Experience with a variety of Data Governance toolsExperience with SAP Analytics Cloud and SAP Datasphere (desirable)Familiarity with SAP data structures and regulatory frameworks (e.g., GDPR).Line management experience.Skills & AttributesExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.Strong organisational and planning abilities.Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.Why Join Us?You'll be joining a forward-thinking organisation that values data as a strategic asset.
