About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Bure, a Category C Prison located in Badersfield, North Norfolk. Based on the Old RAF site and 20 minutes from the city centre.
Parking on‑site, free gym on‑site, no on‑site canteen. PPG pathway training offered, good induction and training, independent prescribing qualification can be offered. This is a not a dispensary Pharmacy – this is outsourced.
Hours
15 hours a week – 2 days a week but can be flexible, shifts 9‑4.30am.
Salary
Part‑time position, annual salary up to £62,000 FTE – depending on experience.

Responsibilities
* Work alongside one other Pharmacist to provide expert clinical advice on medicines and poly‑pharmacy in line with expected standards, ensuring safe, modern medicines management and optimisation service.
* Deliver an integrated, safe, legal and high‑quality prison pharmacy service as part of a comprehensive healthcare package based on prison population needs.
* Provide positive and aspirational leadership to pharmacy technicians and the wider healthcare team to create a good working environment and facilitate staff retention.
* Promote good practice in all prescribing decisions to improve medicines management throughout the prison healthcare team.
* Share information regarding pharmaceutical products, medicines management, optimisation, legislation and general health education with patients and healthcare teams.
Qualifications
* GPhC registered Pharmacist (mandatory)
* Independent Prescribing qualification – desirable
* Procurement and audit experience – desirable
* Vocational Master’s Degree in Pharmacy including pre‑registration training
* Experience developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Experience in hospital, community or prison environment preferred
