Consultant in Medicine WSI Nephrology
Join our Medicine Division at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This new, full‑time (10PAs) consultant post will support inpatient care for GIM patients, offering sub‑specialty sessions in Nephrology. Additional PAs can be negotiated on appointment. A potential job plan is outlined below and will be discussed with the successful candidate.
Responsibilities
* Manage a defined inpatient bed base of approximately 15 beds, with associated support of the junior doctor team on the ward.
* Deliver two sub‑specialty sessions in nephrology, providing clinical input and supportive care; one of these sessions will support the establishment of an ambulatory clinic to reduce length of stay and admission avoidance.
* Contribute to the Internal Medicine on‑call rota (including weekend working), currently on a 1 in 10 basis.
