Amentum is the Design and Engineering partner for Sellafield under the PPP (Programme and Project Partners). This is a 20-year arrangement to deliver ~£7bn of major projects. We are looking to recruit high value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to work in a collaborative environment. PPP is delivering major projects, site wide improvements and provision of supporting services.
The Project
As a result of this increasing demand for our services we are looking for a Senior Structural Designer to join our team on the Lightly Shielded Store 1 (LSS1) Project.
As a Senior Structural Designer responsibilities could include;
* Development of the structural 3D Revit model.
* Attending regular model reviews / space management meetings and represent their discipline and present their model at these.
* Working closely with CS&A Engineers / Architects and modelers from other disciplines to co-ordinate the development of the model.
* Producing 2D AutoCAD GA and detail drawings from the model as design progresses through Preliminary and Detailed Design for both structural steel and reinforced concrete. Dependent on experience, the role may include checking of modelling and drawing output.
* Working with CS&A Engineers and Architects on Specifications.
* Fulfilling the Designer role under the CDM Regulations
As a Senior Structural Designer you will already have:
* Structural engineering HNC / HND or equivalent.
* Experience in using Revit for 3D and AutoCAD for 2D, capable of producing designs using the software without supervision.
* Experience in structural detailing (steel and RC).
* Ideally have some nuclear experience but if not, in a similar industrial field.
* Adaptability and flexibility will be useful in the early stages of the project restart as the team will be small.
* Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams and presenting their modelling updates within group environments.
* Working knowledge of CDM
