Duty Manager – The Beacon Sports Centre
Location: The Beacon Sports Centre, SL0 0HS
Salary: up to £13.50ph depending on skills and experience
Schedule: Casual, covering mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends – flexibility required.
Responsibilities
* Lead, motivate and support operational colleagues on shift to deliver a safe and positive customer experience
* Oversee day‑to‑day operational management of the centre, ensuring service standards and contract requirements are met
* Act as Health and Safety Responsible Person on shift, maintaining a safe environment for customers, colleagues and visitors
* Manage incidents and emergencies, including investigations and follow‑up actions where required
* Provide clear instruction, training and guidance to colleagues so that working practices are efficient, compliant and confident
* Deputise for the Operations Manager as required, supporting consistent delivery and team leadership
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience supervising or managing teams in a leisure, customer‑service or operational environment
* Strong understanding of health and safety responsibilities and safe working practices
* Confident communication skills with ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and customers
* A calm, organised approach, particularly when responding to incidents or operational challenges
* A flexible mindset, with the ability to lead by example across varied shifts
A Basic DBS check will be required, and an Occupational Health Questionnaire must be completed.
