Pay Rate: £45,492.58 Grade: L Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Shift patterns: 4 on 4 off. 4am - 4pm and 4pm - 4am (you need to be able to work both shift patterns as this is a 24hr service). Location: Gatwick Airport. PLEASE NOTE: The role is based within an airport. You will be required to undergo a security/background check if you are to be successful for this position. Did you know that DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business, also provides ground handling services at many UK airports? We're seeking a Front of House Shift Manager to play an integral role in our aviation contract, delivering a first-class service and achieving fantastic results.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring the customer's product is delivered consistently to demanding service level standards and set on time performance targets.
* Adherence to compliance both internal and external regulatory bodies
* Monitor agreed resource level across site in line with budgets, and productivity targets
* Manage and enhance performance management - Monitoring performance, and taking action to correct any shortfalls.
* Support Engagement initiatives across site
* Planning corrective action meetings and preparing response to audits
* Support CSR initiatives across site
* Ensure effective communication processes are established for both internal and external customers
* Review, develop and maintain/improve operational processes
* Record and proactively manage KPI's to drive continuous improvement in the service level and cost performance
* Work closely with H&S and other members of leadership team to ensure all standards of the operation are followed
* Liaise with management team on safety audits and support implementation plans
* Drive safety-first culture, complete audits, manage incidents, ensure adherence to H&S regulations.
* Lead daily FOH operations ensuring OTP, Gate Closure performance, customer service, and compliance.
* Identify performance issues, conduct deep dives, implement mitigation actions, support OMS activities.
* Responsible for managing the departmental / team budget specifically for overtime
* Responsible for identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities
* Carry out HR functions as required ensuring compliance with all HR processes and policies including Disciplinary and Grievance management
* Conduct 1-2-1's for direct reports with evidence of development feedback and develop a pipeline of successors within the department
* Responsble for sickness/absence management and reporting, working towards site KPIs. Ensuring proactive management of absence within set HR / site guidelines
What do we need from you?
* Aviation experience is essential
* Experience of leading a successful team
* Ability to manage teams through your direct reports providing timely and effective feedback
* Airports operational experience essential at a management level Duty Manager or above
* Experience as a Line manager essential
* Working knowledge of ground handling and airport operation regulations
* Ability to communicate successfully at all levels above and below their appointed grade
* High standards in delivering customer service
* Understanding of roster coverage (preferred)
