Join to apply for the Consultant Emergency Medicine role at Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. The Emergency Department is seeking a qualified Consultant within the area or for those looking to relocate to commence employment as a substantive Consultant. This is an opportunity to join one of the largest NHS hospitals in the UK, including the brand-new Major Trauma Centre building due to open in 2024.
You will join a team of Emergency Medicine Consultants and senior clinical staff delivering the full spectrum of Emergency Care across the Emergency Village, including the new Emergency Receiving Area (ERA) within the Major Trauma Centre.
Responsibilities
* Unscheduled care of adult and paediatric patients presenting to A&E with a broad spectrum of clinical conditions.
* Delivery of trauma care in the new trauma and resuscitation centre.
* Morning ward rounds in the Emergency Village.
* Shop floor clinical supervision of junior medical staff, nurse clinicians and nurse practitioners across unscheduled care, plus participation in multi-disciplinary meetings related to direct patient care.
* Patient-related administration including handling complaints, police statements and coroner's reports.

Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified Consultant in Emergency Medicine or eligible for substantive appointment as a Consultant.
* Willingness to relocate if required and to work within the Emergency Village and Major Trauma Centre environment.
