This is an exciting opportunity to transfer directly to our Roads Policing Unit, working from one of three bases as part of a dynamic team focused on delivering departmental priorities. Our Roads Policing team aligns with the National Roads Policing Strategy, focusing on preventing harm, reducing collisions, investigating serious incidents, disrupting crime, and supporting local policing efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-quality public service across the road network and communities.
* Respond to incidents 24/7 across the strategic road network and districts.
* Investigate serious injury and fatal road collisions; roles may include Investigating Officer or Family Liaison Officer.
* Utilize intelligence to target offences and support policing efforts.
* Develop and maintain specialist skills through training in areas like commercial vehicle knowledge.
* Focus enforcement on high-risk roads, as directed.
* Conduct effective, intelligence-led patrols in partnership with internal and external agencies.
* Promote public confidence through victim-focused investigations and clear communication.

Essential Experience and Qualifications:
* Current police officer from a Home Office Force with no performance or conduct issues.
* Completed the two-year probationary period and Policing Diploma or equivalent.
* Authorized to COP Advanced Driving level and trained in Tactical Pursuit and Containment.
* Applicants qualified to ride police motorcycles are especially encouraged.
Additional Requirements:
Meet all pre-employment checks, including medical, vetting, and fitness tests. Attend a one-week transferee course. Provide last two PDRs and evidence of qualifications such as OSPRE or NPPF before application submission.
