Benefits: Flexible hybrid working options Mileage expenses reimbursed Free on-site parking Regular professional supervision A dedicated consultant as your single point of contact Keep your CPD up to date with our free e-learning platform Weekly pay through our efficient payroll system Competitive market-leading rates Opportunity to work with one of the top-rated local authorities Weekly updates on local job opportunities Receive up to £300 for every successful referral (T&Cs apply) Exclusive discounts through the Hapi App Complimentary access to health, financial, and wellbeing advice Responsibilities: Respond promptly to new referrals, completing timely assessments under statutory duties, including Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act 1989 Conduct comprehensive Child & Family Assessments to determine needs, risks, and appropriate interventions Make informed threshold decisions and identify the most appropriate level of support or intervention Participate in multi-agency strategy discussions and joint visits with professionals such as police when safeguarding concerns arise Lead Section 47 enquiries to assess and manage risk to children Present cases at legal planning meetings and progress matters to PLO or court proceedings when necessary Undertake meaningful direct work with children and families, ensuring their voice is central to assessment and planning Collaborate with schools, health, early help services and other agencies to ensure effective, coordinated support Produce clear, evidence-based reports for Child Protection Conferences, LAC Reviews, and court hearings Apply the Signs of Safety model to assess and respond to risk and need Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records on the case management system Engage actively in team meetings, supervision, and reflective sessions Manage a busy duty rota with a balance of urgent responses and planned assessments Requirements: Registration with Social Work England A recognised Social Work degree or equivalent qualification Enhanced DBS check Experience: Proven experience working within statutory Children's Services, particularly in Duty, Assessment, or Safeguarding teams Skilled in completing Child & Family Assessments and managing Section 17 and Section 47 enquiries Confident decision-making regarding thresholds, risk, and legal proceedings Experienced in multi-agency working and representing the local authority in complex safeguarding matters Strong understanding of legislative frameworks including the Children Act 1989 and related guidance Able to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of practice and child-centred approaches Competent in using case management systems and writing analytical, evidence-based reports If you have any further questions, or wish to apply for this role then please contact Hannah on (phone number removed) otherwise Apply Below and I will be in touch soon.
