The post requires the successful applicant to support the delivery of a range of research studies that reflect the services provided by the Trust and its patient population. The post-holder will be a Registered Nurse/Allied Health Professional (AHP) or hold a relevant academic qualification. They will be highly motivated, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work sensitively and professionally with research participants, families, colleagues and clinicians. Experience of delivering research is essential, with an understanding of good clinical practice and information governance and GDPR application to research. The successful applicant will also have some knowledge of how the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act are applied in this role. This is a full-time post (1 WTE) and a part-time post (0.6 WTE), both are fixed term contracts for 18-months with the potential for an extension reliant on future funding. Advert The successful applicant will be responsible for: Contributing to the efficient and safe delivery of a balanced portfolio of research in the Trust and in other organisations as required, within time and target. Liaising with relevant clinicians to facilitate research delivery within clinical areas, home settings and other organisations as required Identifying appropriate participants for NIHR Portfolio research running in Nottinghamshire Healthcare based on protocol and eligibility criteria. Recruiting participants and receiving informed consent according to Good Clinical Practice (GCP). Conducting required research activities within professional scope of practice and/or for which they have been appropriately trained. Complying fully with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, and national, policies and regulations. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Nottinghamshire Healthcare is passionate about its involvement in high quality research that will make a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities. Ensuring a safe, positive and collaborative experience for research participants will be your priority, in partnership with colleagues, clinicians, academics and study teams. The post holder will be a member of the Regional Research Delivery Network (RRDN) East Midlands funded Research Delivery Team in Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The Research Delivery Team delivers both mental and physical health-based research projects. The Research Delivery Team is expanding its reach within Nottinghamshire Healthcare, and part of your role will be to promote and raise the overall profile of research in the Trust and engage clinicians in research activity. Based at the Institute of Mental Health, one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplinary mental health research centres, an innovative partnership between Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Nottingham. You will be a Registered Nurse/Allied Health Professional (AHP) or hold a relevant academic qualification, with a keen interest in research. Experience in research delivery is essential, and a willingness to recruit participants from across all Nottinghamshire Healthcare services and specialties as needed. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies. A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
