A Day in the Life Integrated Health Solutions (IHS) team members are seasoned professionals with in-depth knowledge of the healthcare value chain, as well as breadth of experience across multiple disciplines. They are able to partner with hospital management teams to drive complex transformational change, implement innovative growth strategies, streamline patient-focused care pathways and run and optimize operations.
As a Managed Equipment Service Engineer, you will oversee the full lifecycle of medical equipment setup and maintenance in key hospital departments (Cath Labs, ORs, ICUs, CCUs). Working closely with architects, partners, and stakeholders, you’ll manage planning, procurement, installation, and support under a managed services model. You may also support business development and ensure clinical areas are equipped for high-quality care. This is a remote role, based in the UK, with the ability to work from home and a willingness to travel (approximately 30-50%), within United Kingdom.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
* Take responsibility for overall contract management, including managing projects from an equipment point of view for Hospital Solutions accounts, ensuring fulfilment of quality requirements, managing maintenance contracts and financial budgets, and liaising with customers (Hospital Management & Clinical Teams)
* Contribute to business development by identifying and assisting with growth opportunities alongside the Business Development Managers and Consultants and collaborate with the Service Activation, Procurement (PSM), Service Delivery and Clinical Excellence teams
* Create a complete asset inventory and/or plan with a review of all existing maintenance arrangements to identify potential financial and clinical risks, equipment replacement needs, and opportunities for improvement (for existing contracts)
* Develop an equipment strategy in collaboration with Medtronic Hospital Solutions and customer stakeholders. This should include an equipment list, a maintenance plan, and service level agreements for new sites and opportunities.
* Plan of the medical equipment and calculate of the costs of a specific assignment / project
* Manage the procurement, installation, testing, and training of/for capital equipment necessary for Hospital Solutions accounts in this region
* Track costs and manage service contracts, advice and prepare an equipment renewal plan to ensure that project documentation is updated
Required Knowledge and Experience:
* Technical Degree in Biomedical Engineering or related field
* 5+ years of experience in the medical equipment sector, including capital equipment planning, procurement, installation, and maintenance
* Hands-on experience in ORs and Cath Labs, with strong knowledge of hospital workflows and infrastructure
* Proven project management expertise across design, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting for healthcare environments
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects under pressure
* Excellent communication, client management, and negotiation skills, with a demonstrated ability to work independently in multicultural, cross-functional teams
* Fluency in English required; additional languages (French, German, Spanish, Arabic) and medical IT knowledge are advantageous
