Major Recruitment, in partnership with Polytec Group, are looking to recruit a Buyer on a permanent basis to join the team based in Bridgnorth.
As a Buyer you will be responsible for supporting new projects with sourcing suppliers to ensure materials are available for trials and a robust supply chain is established for ongoing production requirements. Supporting the purchasing strategy which delivers the most competitive commercial position for our business, with robust and lean supply chain supporting production.
Key responsibilities as a Buyer:
Issue of Request for Quotations and analysis of supplier responses
Prepare and issue purchase orders according to Company purchasing policies and procedures
Build good working relationships both internally with cross-functional team members and externally with suppliers
Benchmark prices for materials, consumables and services
Maintain department KPI records, including supplier spend and performance
Evaluating movement of stock and raw materials
Participate in multi department improvement activities
Input to Purchasing supplier strategies
Maintain SAP Master Data
Help/Guide Trainees on basic team & purchasing responsibilities.
Skills required as a Buyer:
CIPS L3 as a minimum
Familiar with ISO9001 and IATF16949
Lean Manufacturing
Proven experience of working with/managing suppliers
Direct/Indirect purchasing experience What's in it for you?
