SZC is the company responsible for designing, financing, constructing, operating, maintaining and ultimately decommissioning the nuclear power plant at Sizewell C, Suffolk. It is collaboratively owned by EDF and HMG and is committed to achieving a safe and efficient new nuclear power station.
What you’ll be doing: The Rail / Import Coordinator supports the delivery of the Enabling and Earthworks scope by managing inbound logistics of materials, equipment and bulk imports arriving via rail, port facilities, or other external supply chain routes. This role ensures all rail movements, port deliveries and import operations are planned, compliant, tracked and safely integrated into site logistics processes, supporting the Civil Works Alliance (CWA) in the timely and efficient delivery of the Sizewell C construction programme.
Responsibilities and Requirements
* Experience in rail logistics, port operations, import coordination or inbound supply chain management on major infrastructure or industrial projects.
* Strong understanding of freight planning, delivery scheduling and material handling processes.
* Ability to coordinate multiple suppliers, hauliers and delivery channels simultaneously.
* Good IT skills, including tracking tools, Excel and logistics management systems.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Desirable Skills
* Experience with UK rail freight operations or familiarity with Network Rail procedures.
* Understanding of customs requirements and import documentation.
* Experience on large‑scale civil engineering or nuclear construction projects.
* Knowledge of bulk aggregate handling, heavy plant logistics or large‑volume earthworks supply chains.
* Familiarity with delivery management systems and project logistics control rooms.
