Job Description
To assist the Shared Lives team and Social Care to carry out duties in relation to a clients community care needs through the co-ordination of care, ensuring current policies and initiatives set by Local and Central Government are applied.

Requirements
To assist with the co-ordination of care.
\n
\n
Liaise with and advise Social Care Staff in regard to verifying information regarding care arrangements.
\n
\n
Liaise, consult & verify with Social Care Staff in regard to the accurate recording of care services entered on Carefirst IT system.
\n
\n
Carry out Shared Lives Carer assessments.
\n
\n
Use of various IT systems.
\n
\n
Participate in team meetings, attend supervision sessions and participate in ERDP.
\n
\n
Ability to Manage Difficult Relationships and Environments.
\n
\n
Health and Safety.
\n
The Individual
Experience /Training in Local Government.
\n
Knowledge of Local Authority policies in relation to Social Care.
\n
Educated to SVQ 2/3, HNC or equivalent in relevant discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience.
\n
Knowledge and experience of Microsoft office packages, including Excel and Access and Word.
\n
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
\n
To be able to work under pressure & prioritise own workload.
\n
Be able to exercise own initiative and make decisions.
\n
Understanding of delivering an outcome focussed service.
\n
Ability to recruit, supervise, support and manage Shared Lives Carers.
\n
Ability to assist with Shared Lives Carer training and development needs.
\n
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car.
\n
Ability to deal confidently and sympathetically with people who may not agree with decisions and policies.
\n
Ability to use discretion and adopt a calm approach.
\n
Appreciation, acceptance of and commitment to the importance of confidentiality. Ability to work from home or in an open plan office.

Ability to work in different offices dependent on service requirements
\n
Ability to work flexibly to meet demands of service .
\n
This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
