Field Service Technician – Manufacturing Location: Wigan (with travel across the UK) Salary: £30,000 – £40,000 up to £500/month callout allowance Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm (with flexibility required) About the Role We’re looking for a Field Service Technician to join a leading name in the chemical manufacturing sector. Based from Wigan, this is a hands-on and varied role that combines technical work, customer service, and logistics support. You’ll be visiting customer sites across the UK (with stays away from home) to carry out equipment installation, maintenance, and removal – ensuring safe and reliable service delivery every time. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical skills, a proactive approach, and the flexibility to travel. Full training will be provided, with a 6–12 month development programme to support your success. Key Responsibilities * Install, maintain, remove, and inspect service equipment at customer sites * Troubleshoot and repair technical issues, ensuring safe and effective operation * Maintain accurate records, documentation, and databases for all site visits * Support logistics – including transport coordination and fleet maintenance * Work closely with internal teams and customers to deliver excellent service * Promote and uphold company health & safety policies at all times What We’re Looking For * Experience in equipment installation, troubleshooting, or maintenance (preferred) * Strong problem-solving and communication skills * Willingness to travel extensively and stay away from home when required * IT-literate, with the ability to complete reports and use company software * Safety-focused, ideally with certifications such as: * Confined Space Qualification * First Aid at Work (Don’t worry if you don’t have all of these – full training and support will be given.)
