General information Reference 003974 Location United Kingdom, London, London Work Place Hybrid Region UK Job Profile Lockton - Experienced Professional Title Head of Commercial Legal Team Description We are seeking an experienced individual to lead our Commercial Legal Team across the UK and Europe. In addition to providing leadership, the role will include responsibility for driving efficiencies within the team by identifying opportunities for improvement and developing strategic solutions. The successful candidate will also provide general advisory support, working closely with the business to deliver a proactive legal service across a broad range of commercial law matters. The role will involve delivering training to both business teams and members of the legal team on relevant legal developments and changes in the law. Further responsibilities include assisting with insurance agreements and documentation, such as Delegated Underwriting Agreements, London Market Agreements, and Binding Agreements. The position will also involve reviewing, or supervising the review of, a wide range of general insurance commercial contracts, as well as non-insurance related commercial agreements. Candidate Profile You should have the following skills and experience: Experience gained in private practice and/or in-house in a commercial legal team in the insurance sector, covering a wide range of general commercial and contract law matters. Experience in leading a team and/or developing others. Excellent academic record. Some experience in IP, Trade Marks, Data Protection and policy development is preferred. Experience of the insurance industry/London Market and/or policy wording drafting is required. Experience of Data Privacy/Data Protection matters/UK & EU GDPR. Strong communication and collaborations skills Strong negotiation skills Strong drafting skills The ability to identify and resolve legal risks Flexibility and willingmess to be involved in all areas of law International or cross-border experience desirable.
