This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced geoscientist with skills in technical leadership, groundwater quality, and land contamination management in Thames area. Customers include internal teams, water companies, industry, developers, and local authorities. In this role, you will provide technical leadership and expertise for work related to land and water quality, WINEP (Water Industry Investment Delivery and Planning), permitting and planning work related to groundwater quality and land contamination, voluntary remediation, and ongoing Part 2A work.
You will:

The team:
The role will be within the Thames area Groundwater and Contaminated Land team, which includes specialists in groundwater resources, groundwater quality, land contamination, and surface water protection. The team operates from offices in Reading, Wallingford, and Farnham. We are an experienced, well-connected, inclusive, and supportive team, contributing to the national groundwater protection network.
We seek a hydrogeologist/geoscientist with at least 5 years of relevant experience, qualified to at least degree level in a relevant discipline.
* A relevant geoscience degree or equivalent experience, plus a postgraduate qualification.
* A professional qualification or Chartered status.
* Ability to construct conceptual models, understand contaminant transport, and undertake hydrogeological risk assessments.
* Experience in data analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex hydrogeological results to non-specialists, both in writing and verbally.
* Knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations, Town and Country Planning, and Water Framework Regulations.
* Experience in investigating and remediating land and groundwater contamination.
* Ability to influence colleagues and clients through clear, well-reasoned arguments.
