£450 per day via Umbrella Company

My client is one of the largest financial institutions headquartered in Japan, with an established presence across all consumer and corporate banking businesses. Through its subsidiaries and affiliates, they offer a diverse range of financial services, including commercial banking, leasing, securities, credit card, consumer finance and other services.
They are looking for a Senior Managers Regime Specialist to join the team on a contract to the end of March 2025. In this role you will be working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, however flexibility is required. You will be based in their London office 2-3 days a week, with the remainder of time working from home.
Purpose of Job
To keep the required Senior Managers Regime documentation up to date.
To maintain and keep current all corresponding processes in relation to the regime (e.g. regulatory submissions, annual fitness and propriety, managing Reasonable Steps, Job Descriptions, etc).
To ensure an up-to-date understanding of Senior Managers Regime matters. Preparing reports, as necessary, on any regulatory developments relating to the Senior Managers Regime.
Background
The Senior Managers and Certification Regime was implemented by the PRA and FCA to enhance individual accountability within financial institutions. The Senior Managers Regime team within the Corporate Governance and Sustainability Department is responsible for the systems and controls of the Senior Managers Regime within all UK regulated entities/branches of the organisation.
In this role you will carry out the day-to-day activities to ensure the firm meets regulatory obligations under the guidance and supervision of the SMR Manager. The role holder will report to the SMG Manager, and work closely with stakeholders including Senior Management Function (SMF) holders, GMs and Co-GMs and any other relevant teams/individuals.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Keeping the Bank’s Management Responsibilities Map current, together with all supporting Handbooks, Policies and Procedures for SMR, as well as change log/registers.
Keeping the individual Statements of Responsibilities current.
Maintain and manage all SMF documentation, including Job Descriptions, Reasonable Steps, Learning and Development Plans, Handover documents and other ad hoc documentation.
Prepare all SMF regulatory filings, as required.
Preparing briefing notes, presentations and reports for senior management consideration in relation to the Senior Managers Regime.
Preparation of MI, Board/Local Management Committee and Executive Committee paper/reports in relation to SMR.
Preparing training materials on the SMR.
Supporting the Head of SMR and SMR Manager in providing guidance, briefings and/or training to SMFs, GMs or other teams, as required.
Monitoring of regulatory developments and proposing changes of systems and controls in response to emerging trends and changes of regulatory rules. Undertaking recordkeeping obligations for SMCR
Carrying out ad hoc activities such as analysis on changes of regulations, reporting, monitoring, as requested.
Assisting the Head of SMR and SMR Manager in SMCR related projects to enhance or develop new and existing processes.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
The role holder should be able to manage their own work and resolve routine problems and queries.
The role holder should have sound judgement on prioritisation and be able to deal with multiple tasks in timely and accurate manner.
The role holder should be able to communicate with stakeholders in professional manner and be able to express views clearly verbally and in writing.
The role holder should be proactive and self-motivated.
Previous experience in Senior Managers and Certification Regime desirable
Knowledge in SMCR regulations and banking compliance and regulations essential
Higher Diploma, qualification or Bachelor’s degree preferred
