Financial Controller job in the Widnes area paying c£65,000 Hays Senior Finance are working with an established and profitable SME in the Widnes area who need to increase their in-house accounts capability with a hands-on Financial Controller. This company has been operating in the area for nearly 30 years and is firmly rooted in the local economy, employing a loyal workforce with extensive tenure. As Financial Controller you will take ownership of all accounting matters for the main trading company and two other smaller companies who own assets. You will work with external accountants to bring accounts control in-house and produce accurate management accounts for the owner and senior management team. There are two accounts clerks in the business who are responsible for transactional processing. They will need mentoring and hopefully developing as the business grows. As Financial Controller you will have responsibility for the accounts package and helping produce value-adding MI. This appointment is very much an investment in the future and a statement of intent to remain in the area and continue to grow. If successful, you will be given the autonomy to shape the department and the reporting how you see fit. This is a broad role and will touch all areas of the business. It is best suited to someone who likes a hands-on role and is willing to get into the detail. It won't be perfect on day one, but you will be supported by the management team and have the backing of external accountants. This role will be office-based for the time being, but reduced hours or four days a week will be considered for the right candidate.
