Private Client Solicitor (NQ–2 PQE)
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent, Full‑time
The Opportunity
An established and highly regarded private client practice is seeking a Newly Qualified or Qualified Solicitor (up to 2 years’ PQE) to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a career within a specialist private client environment, working with a high‑quality client base and alongside experienced practitioners.
The role would suit a solicitor looking to consolidate and expand their private client experience within a supportive and collaborative setting.
The Role
You will manage your own varied caseload while also supporting senior colleagues on more complex matters. The work will include exposure to:
1. Wills and estate planning
2. Powers of Attorney
3. Succession and tax planning
4. Family and business governance matters
5. Trusts and related private client work
6. Supporting dispute resolution and mediation matters where required
You will be encouraged to take responsibility for client relationships and to deliver a consistently high standard of client care.
The Candidate
Applicants should have experience in private client work, either from a trainee seat or post‑qualification role within a commercial or private client firm.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
7. Relevant private client experience, ideally involving HNW individuals
8. The ability to manage a busy and varied workload
9. Strong written and verbal communication skills
10. A professional and empathetic client‑focused approach
11. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a close‑knit team
