Overview
The University of Hull seeks a Lecturer in Mathematics (Band 7) to join the School of Digital and Physical Sciences. This role offers an opportunity for an ambitious academic to contribute to a vibrant, interdisciplinary School focused on excellent teaching and research growth.
Responsibilities
* Teach statistics and mathematics, including applied mathematics, across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
* Develop and deliver teaching materials and assessments across tutorials, workshops, and lectures.
* Supervise and support students, including MSc and PhD supervision where appropriate.
* Participate in curriculum development and module delivery; potentially act as Module Leader.
* Engage in collaborative decision‑making on teaching, assessment, and research activity.
* Develop and pursue a research agenda, publish high‑quality output, present at conferences, and seek research funding.
* Contribute to academic citizenship within the School.
Qualifications
* Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics or a closely related field.
* Strong academic credentials with evidence of high quality teaching and an established or developing research profile.
* Experience in teaching across all levels of study, including Master’s provision.
* Ability to align research with School strengths in Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Data, Intelligence, Simulation, Modelling, Secure Systems, Quantum, Materials, Physics, or related areas.
* Willingness to undertake the University’s Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice if not already qualified.
