We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and organised After School Club Leader to lead our popular after‑school provision. This is a wonderful opportunity to support children in a safe, nurturing and engaging environment at the end of the school day.
About the Role
As Afterschool Club Leader, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of fun, age‑appropriate activities for children aged 4–11. You will create a welcoming and inclusive environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to enjoy their time after school.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and lead engaging activities such as arts and crafts, sports, games and homework support
* Ensure the safety, welfare and safeguarding of all children at all times
* Prepare and serve snacks, following food hygiene and allergy procedures
* Maintain daily registers and records, including incidents and parent communication
* Set up and clear away equipment, maintaining a clean and organised space
* Build positive relationships with pupils, parents/carers and school staff
* Supervise staff, volunteers or play workers where applicable
* Monitor resources and report any supply needs
The Successful Candidate Will Have
* Experience working with children aged 4–11
* Strong communication and behaviour management skills
* Ability to plan and lead structured activities
* A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
* First Aid qualification or willingness to undertake training
* Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent experience)
* Food hygiene certification
Experience leading or supervising others
SEN experience
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training
