Survey Assistant/Technician
Job description
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Survey Assistant/Technician to support our Land and Highway Drainage operations. You will assist with public enquiries, maintain records, support ground survey work, and help ensure our drainage services run smoothly.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting designated officers in relation site surveys and investigation works to establish causes of flooding and nuisance water issues throughout Neath and Port Talbot.
The main duties of the post include;
1. Supporting the Highway and Land Drainage team with attending daily investigations from calls from the Public.
2. Assisting site surveys to gather crucial data and identify problems in drainage infrastructure.
3. Collaborating with a diverse team of drainage engineers, flood risk officers, and streetcare enthusiasts to bring about solutions to flooding and drainage problems.
You will have experience in/of;
4. Working in both an office and site environments.
5. Report writing and administrative duties, including emails and phone calls to the public.
6. Microsoft office and GIS and mapping applications
Ideally you will have;
7. Proficiency in surveying tools and techniques, with a keen eye for detail.
8. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teammates.
9. A passion for innovation and a drive to constantly improve our streetcare strategies.
10. Experience in drainage design or a related field and holding a full driving licence
